What I learned on my summer vacation

So this year I had two main goals: Get a new version of b.com launched and see 50 movies. As per usual I did about 80% of both ;)

There are still a few things to do around here, get an IA specific area and maybe a Game specific area as well as an about me page - all that kind of thing.

For the Film Festival I think I just went a bit too far the other way from last year - 50 was way too many even if I didn't end up seeing 50 - even thinking of that many is crazy. It's barely possible to remember what I saw when it's 3 movies a day, push that to 6 and forget about it. Plus I'm tired as hell. I'd much rather just see a bunch of movies and get to have the full experience - maybe even take some pictures of celebs or some shit.

Total movies seen: 42
Movies skipped: 5

Things I learned from this year's Film Festival

  1. Blackberries are as or more annoying than cellphones in a theatre - Stop it!
  2. See fewer movies but stick around for the Q&A sessions
  3. The Ryerson isn't actually that bad if you get an aisle in the balcony
  4. Avoid animated features
  5. Take way more time to learn about the films before hand
  6. Six films in one day is too many
  7. Stick to a Coupon book, forget the Pass - 50 movies is too many
  8. Plan for time off after the festival not before (doh!)
  9. As far as I can tell only the Cumberland has wi-fi
  10. The BK veggie burger is better than McDonald's

So hopefully I can remember to look back on this next year.
