According to an article at the BBC website Comedian Dave Allen dies aged 68.
I still recall staying up way past my bedtime with all the lights off in my room watching Dave Allen at Large when I was younger (10-12). I look back and think that much of the sense of humour I carry with me to this day, and inflict on others, comes from Dave's dry satirical wit. Anyone who has known me long enough has heard me say something (unkowningly) very familiar to the following Dave Allen quote: "A good storyteller never lets the facts get in the way."
Unfortunately most people won't know his work as he refused to allow rebroadcasts during his lifetime. I however, will always remember the 9 fingered irishman who kept me up late.
He was one of the best... I stayed up late watching him too (even tho I was in Jr High School and parents didn't like it lol) I really miss his shows.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I would have to say all the same things. Why aren't we seeing this pgm. in syndication. Present society could benefit from this original comedy talent. Of course, we could keep DA for ourselves and noone else could have him Ha.
